I had a full week that included much client work, phone calling and meetings. I also took a trip to Arkansas for a weekend retreat. As I am sitting on my return flight wondering what to write for this week’s blog I witness a wonderful exchange. Two men in first class give up their seats and gift them to US soldiers’ in uniform. I find myself moved by the small exchange, the letting go of the money, points and prestige to sit in the front of the plane to hand it over to a person they don’t know and most likely will never see again. As I sit waiting for takeoff I realize sufficiency exists more than maybe I notice. It exists as I wrote in April inside the moment’s in-between. Here are the other moments this week where I now know sufficiency happened:

  • The jet gate broke at ATL and we had to deplane from the back of the aircraft; the gentleman behind me carried my roller bag across the tarmac and up the stairs for me because he had nothing to carry.
  • @deltaAssist sending me a DM when I complained about service on twitter
  • Free internet service from Google Chrome on my Delta flights – how cool is that!
  • Meeting Charles Stewart, former Interim CEO and current board member of Heifer International, in their world headquarters; being re-inspired by their work and wondering how we at Seven Stones can contribute to ending hunger and poverty on the planet.
  • Realizing that I have been working too much and that it doesn’t serve me, my clients, my family or my Seven Stones partners and making a commitment to bring personal mastery practices back into my life.

These were small almost unnoticed moments in my week. I am glad I took the time to pause and look. Maybe if you did the same you will be surprised by the sufficiency that already exists in your life.

Finally, thank you to the two men on Delta Flight #1690 between ATL and BDL who have up their first class seats today.
